The KP Sharma Oli-led ruling coalition has left people surprised, has
obtained a copy of the ‘divorce paper’ the letter that Maoist party
Chief Prachanda wrote to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli explaining the
reasons behind withdrawal of support to the Oli-led government. In the
letter, surprisingly, Prachanda has expressed hope the move will help
build national consensus, though the main opposition Nepali Congress
made it clear earlier that it will help Prachanda cobble together a
majority government, not a national unity government. Prachanda stated:
The incumbent government was not willing to implement the nine-point
agreement and the three-point gentleman’s understanding. Because of this
factor, it would be politically inappropriate for our party to remain a
part of the government, so we have withdrawn our support to it.
