2 four wheelers and 2 buses are missing after a bridge over the Savitri river at Mahad on the Mumbai – Goa highway collapsed. The primary reason for the collapse seems to be the high pressure due to the flooding of Savitri river. In a major bridge collapse over the Savitri river at Mahad on the Mumbai – Goa highway where 2 buses have been reportedly washed away with 22 people on board. The NDRF teams from Pune have been deployed at the site, however the incessant rains and water has obstructed the rescue operations.The primary reason for the collapse seems to be the high pressure due to the flooding of Savitri river.
